This privacy notice explains how personal data is processed when you visit the Journey Ahead website (journeyahead.eu). Journey Ahead is an initiative of JA Solar presenting the JAPlanet, JAGalaxy and solar module product range on a roadshow across Europe.

This notice applies specifically to this website. For JA Solar’s general data processing activities, please see the JA Solar Privacy Policy.

2. Data processed when you visit this website

2.1 Hosting and server log data

This website is hosted on Framer, a website platform operated by Framer B.V., Rozengracht 207-3, 1016 LZ Amsterdam, Netherlands.

When you access the website, your browser automatically transmits technical data to the hosting infrastructure, including:

•  your IP address

•  date and time of the request

•  the page or file requested

•  browser type, version and operating system

•  referring website, where applicable

This data is technically required to deliver the website to your device and to maintain its security and stability. It is not merged with other data sources and is not used to identify individual visitors.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and reliable provision of the website).

This data is retained by the hosting provider only for as long as necessary for these purposes and is then deleted.

2.2 Web fonts

The typefaces used on this website are hosted together with the website itself and are delivered from the hosting infrastructure described in section 2.1.

No connection to external font providers is established when you visit this website, and no data is transmitted to any such provider.

2.3 Website analytics

This website uses the analytics function built into the Framer platform to understand how the site is used (for example, how many people visit a page and which stops of the roadshow attract the most interest).

This analytics function does not set cookies and does not create persistent identifiers or individual user profiles. Requests are sent to events.framer.com. For each page view, the following is recorded:

•  the page visited and the time of the visit

•  the country you are visiting from, derived from your IP address

•  device type, browser, operating system and browser language

•  the website that referred you, where applicable

Your IP address is used to determine the country and is then discarded; it is not stored. In order to count returning visits within a single day without identifying anyone, the IP address and browser characteristics are converted into a non-reversible value using a secret key that is regenerated and deleted every day. Once that key has been discarded, the value can no longer be linked to any visitor.

These records are evaluated in aggregated form only — for example, how many people visited a particular page and from which countries. They are not used to identify individual visitors, and are not combined with any other data.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in understanding and improving the use of the website).

2.4 Cookies and cookie consent

This website does not set any cookies.

To remember your privacy preferences, your selection is stored in your browser’s local storage so that the banner is not shown to you again. This information remains on your device and is not transmitted to us or to any third party. You can withdraw or change your choice at any time via the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer, or by clearing your browser storage.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25(2) TTDSG (storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service you expressly requested, namely to record your consent decision).

3. Newsletter sign-up

The “Sign up for updates” buttons on this website link to a form hosted by JA Solar on Microsoft Forms (Microsoft 365). Clicking the button takes you to that Microsoft Forms page.

Any data you enter there is submitted directly into JA Solar’s own Microsoft 365 environment. It is not collected, received or stored by this website or by the website operator at any point.

JA Solar processes the data you provide for the purpose of informing you about the Journey Ahead roadshow, related events, products and updates. The processing is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time with future effect by contacting JA Solar or by using the unsubscribe mechanism provided in the relevant communications.

The data will be retained until you withdraw your consent or until it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected.

Further information on JA Solar’s processing of personal data can be found in the JA Solar Privacy Policy.
